Pittsburgh Pagans enforcer goes to prison on drug and gun charges

By David Amoruso for Gangsters Inc.

An associate of the Pagans Outlaw Motorcycle Club was sentenced to almost 5 years in prison last week. 45-year-old Jason “Shahid” Evans had been convicted of drug and gun charges. He accepted responsibility for distributing over 300 grams of cocaine.

Evans was identified as a member of a large-scale drug trafficking operation, responsible for trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin, in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He was caught up in an investigation by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) aimed to identify the criminal activity of individuals who are members or associates of the Pagans Motorcycle Club.

Sergeant at Arms and his enforcer

The task force was led by the FBI, which conducted a federal Title III investigation, resulting in the interception of thousands of wire and electronic communications over a total of ten telephones, including those used by “full-patch” Pagans Bill “Pittsburgh Billy” Rana and Eric “Knuckles” Armes.

Evans, although not a member of the Pagans, was a close associate of Rana’s, who was not just any member of the club, but Sergeant at Arms for the Pittsburgh Chapter. Evans served as an enforcer.

On December 8, 2020, law enforcement executed numerous federal arrest and search warrants, in conjunction with the takedown of this investigation. A search of Evans’ residence led to the seizure of approximately 10 ounces of cocaine as well as two firearms, ammunition, magazines, and over $10,000 in cash.

The investigation led to the takedown of 30 Pagans bikers and associates in December of 2020, including Evans, Rana, and Armes.
