Drug broker wanted by Interpol caught in Colombia

By Gangsters Inc. Editors

A drug broker wanted by Interpol was arrested in Cartagena, Colombia, on Sunday. 50-year-old Garafolo Forte Biaggio Benito was placed on Interpol’s Red Notices list in 2015, making him a wanted man in 193 countries.

Biaggio Benito holds dual Italian and Venezuelan citizenship and became a person of interest for law enforcement for his role in an organization that trafficked cocaine from South America to Europe. He was convicted in Venezuela of being involved in the smuggling of 350 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a shipment of fruit from South America to Barcelona, Spain, in 2006.

He was caught in a hotel in Cartagena. Upon his arrest, he at first presented himself using his Italian identification papers. Later on, he presented his Venezuelan ID, trying to avoid arrest.

Authorities weren’t having it. They found out he had entered the country illegally and was listed on Interpol’s Red Notices. The days of hopping from one country to the other had come to an end for this international drug broker.
