Japan’s Mafia known as the Yakuza is one of the most dominant crime groups in the world. But the last 20 years have been hard. Membership is steadily declining and authorities are cracking down harder than ever before. Recently, one region even released a video aimed at persuading Yakuza gangsters to leave their life of crime and make a fresh start.

The video in question can be watched below and is produced by the Fukuoka Prefectural government in an effort to support the rehabilitation of members of Yakuza syndicates. It shows the journey from leaving a criminal organization to reintegrating back into society.

A shortened version of the video will also be aired in around 130 pachinko parlors, which are gambling halls known for being under the influence of organized crime, across Fukuoka in March. Similar videos have been produced in the past.
